SIM OWNED BUSINESSES

There are a few "As is " businesses in Foggy Hills.

These businesses are permanent features of foggy hills and cannot be remodelled in anyway what so ever. We have spent a great deal of time and money in making these features. Please do not ask to remodel them. If you are interested in running one of our existing builds it is with this understanding that the building and its décor are as is. Experience in running previous sims has led to this decision. It will not be undone.

Generally a Sim Business may have one or more service managers and several staff under them, think of multiple managers as you would in real life, managing different shifts. (time zones) Service managers are responsible for running events from the business and hiring and firing underlings. A manager may only hire or fire an employee another manager hired or fired with that (active) managers consent.

• The business belongs to an NPC owner and is never player owned. Sim admin are the only ones who are able to offer management positions to players and the only ones capable of removing them from this role.

• The same rules applies to Municipal positions such as the Fire Dept, Police and Hospital.

• Do note "Human" characters are favoured for management positions.

• Service Managers are expected to be pro-active in order to keep their position.

• Service Managers are positions that exist to promote roleplay, this is their only job.

• You cannot OWN a sim owned business, only work for the NPC owners /Authorities as Service Managers. 

• If you wish to be a Business Owner then you must rent your own private business.

• There are far too many businesses to create Secondlife groups for. The Admin Appointed Service Manager Group Role is given for one business only. Abuse leads to the role being removed for the offending player. A perk of this group role is the ability to send notices.

• Service Managers must -prove- themselves before appointment to Service Manager role. Basically chat to an admin and explain how you will help to generate roleplay.

• Inactivity leads to demotion. We're sorry to say if you don't do anything in the role, then you shouldn't have the role.

• VITO's is a Mafia Front. Club Obi Wan is a Tong front. Service managers for those businesses must respect that fact or they may find the Commission Or the Dragon heads let them go. Service managers of these establishment don't have to belong to the Mafia or the Tongs, but they must never oppose or disrespect them in their own fronts. The beauty of this arrangement is that Mafia and Tong provide free protection for their business fronts. Only Admin have the ability to fire Service Managers.

• Q. How do I work at a sim business for a Service Manager?

• A. You basically interview IC with them and they hire you or not. Only that manager can fire you. As mentioned before a Service Manager cannot fire another Service mangers hire without the other Service Managers Consent. Unless Admin intervention is requested. 

• Q: How do i work in the Hospital, Police, Fire Dept?

• A. An Admin is happy to give you a tag in the Emergency Services Group. If you wish to become an emergency services manager, the same rules that apply to regular service managers apply here.

PRIVATE BUINESSES (RENTALS)

The option to own and operate your own business is permitted if you decided to use your rental as a business instead.

Q: I own a rental above a sim business, is the sim business mine?

A. No, unless the unit below you is empty and unfurnished you do not own it. In other words, if the unit is a admin decorated  build you do not own it. No matter if you are renting the apartment above or not. You can however apply be a service manager for a sim business below your apartment if you wish to be, see above!
