  • 25 XP per Attribute level

EARNING EXPERIENCE POINTS (XP)

​

DWELL XP

Mostly Experience is generated by time spent on sim and capped to 25 XP per week. This is automatically calculated by the Sim HUD and if you have multiple characters on your HUD you can earn XP for them by simply switching the name on the HUD.

This XP is then distributed to your application every two weeks. 

Dwell XP = 1 XP per Hour on sim capped to 25 XP per week.

If you are earning XP while AFK please note in your HUD titler that you are AFK.

PROFESSION XP

You can earn additional XP by taking on a specific IC Profession. This is not automatically calculated so it must be notecarded.

Professions are designed to encourage a greater spread of roleplay to individuals and the community as a whole. This is a worthy effort and should be rewarded. Our belief is that everyone in the roleplay community deserves an opportunity to roleplay and the chance to experience each role-player on the sim, every character is their own protagonist, but they all need their antagonists in order to have a rich and varied experience. Foggy Hills is not a place to settle down and play happy families, or find your true love,  anyone who attempts such will find there are many challenges to that suburban white picket fence dream experience. Foggy Hills is a place filled with criminal elements, supernatural predators and those seeking to corrupt the innocent.

You can do one big "Profession" roleplay per week or do one hour a day of the profession a week the XP in this regard is static and does not change regardless of what you do. however...

  • Your Profession roleplay MUST involve interaction with other characters

  • Your Profession roleplay MUST involve your character doing the minimum as listed in the profession. Simply sitting in your base of operations emoting to oneself does not count. We encourage roleplay with other characters. You must be proactive in order to earn Profession XP Bonus. If you fail to provide a good chunk of roleplay that week then you will not earn the bonus for that week.

  • Do note: Some professions provide a bigger yield than others as they promote darker roleplay or promote sim activity

  • Do note: Professions DO NOT STACK

  • Professions marked with an *, are positions that maybe limited, we may allow time share based on time zones for some businesses or criminal organizations, but we can never have a position where there are more managers than employees. If you want a management /boss position then you must show through your roleplay activities that you deserve such and do the job of a manager/ boss. Needless to say if you fail to maintain boss/manager levels you may find yourself demoted by upper management. This is not personal, you are simply not meeting the expectations required by the sim to grease the wheels of roleplay. The sim and the requirement for people to be active in creating  roleplay opportunities  for our community comes first. It is easy to find people who will -react- to a roleplay, it is harder to find those that will -start- one. Manager and Crime Boss positions are reviewed every four weeks, a Crime Boss or manager thus therefore provide at least one significant piece of roleplay for the community they are representing at least one time during this period.

  • Crime Bosses. Competition between crime bosses of different groups is encouraged, we fully support this. There are consequences to roleplay though , so be smart about it. There are no free passes from reprisals. Try to think of anything that happens to your character as good for story building.

  • Judges: Admin play the role of the judiciary in Foggy Hills. If something needs to go to court IC admin can render a verdict based on chain of evidence, witness testimony, etc. Criminals should feel free to practice IC Bribery, Evidence Tampering Blackmail and Witness intimidation if their case is hopeless. A verdict against a criminal on a major charge can remove them from play for a short time or permanently if they receive a life sentence. Life sentences should be rare, and criminals should endeavour to use whatever means at their disposal to ensure they get a verdict they want from a judge, be creative and discuss it. However all judge verdicts are -final- though trials require the criminal to be in custody first...

  • Supernatural and job exclusions: Foggy Hills is set during a time of increased cold war scrutiny. ID's are hard to come by for supernatural characters and those working in the emergency services would never pass full background checks. Even though Faeryn and Daemons have access to a degree of security in this regard, it is likely their supernatural nature might raise some "Red" flags, while faeryn and daemons are not communists their supernatural activities are likely to be flagged as "Unamerican" if the truth of their origins was ever discovered it presents a security risk for their entire species. The U.S government will not look kindly on possession or the faeryn process of procreation (Invasion Of The Body Snatchers). Given the entertainment media of the day is unfriendly towards "Aliens and Monsters", no argument is going to prevent a full on witch hunt and cull.

  • NOTE: There is nothing stopping a Daemon possessing a COP host body or a Faeryn passing the checks or a Werebeast turning One. HOWEVER: If one does go this route, do note if your supernatural nature is discovered while occupying such an important position  you will forfeit your reasonable right to life. The consequences of discovery in government positions could lead to government inquisitions forming which would have serious repercussions for your entire species. The Spirits in the Daemon realm would prevent any attempt of return from Omnis Daemonium , while the daemon would technically still exist, they could never return to earth or Foggy Hills.  

  •  OOC supernatural characters have an edge over human characters in terms of power, humans have an edge in career paths. It all breaks down fairly.

  • Alternative routes at control : Some supernatural have the ability to mind control or emotionally control others and it is this tactic which is often used to puppeteer humans in positions of power rather than direct occupation of those positions forbidden to them. This as you might imagine helps to drive roleplay further with supernatural attempting to "acquire" powerful individuals. This is a deliberate design choice and builds more opportunities for roleplay and again makes humans a valuable asset to a supernatural sim rather than have them fall into insignificance as seen on many other supernatural sims, of course other humans also seek to acquire powerful individuals to their own criminal ends, using more blunt tactics such as blackmail, coercion or bribery. We suggest people are proactive and use the opportunities we have provided to build a bigger story for themselves and others on the sim. Stagnation occurs when there are NO challenges for characters to overcome.
