THE FAERYN

The Faeryn, or the Fae were the genetically engineered servants of the last survivors of a technologically advanced civilization that inhabited the previous universe. Their masters created the Faeryn for a number of purposes, some were to serve as warriors, some as sexual slaves, others as deep sea worker, warriors, diplomats and household management.

 

When the inevitable end of the last universe came, the Faeryn masters created a pocket dimension frozen in time to survive the oncoming  Eldritch harvest. The Faeryn however took this opportunity to rid them of their oppressive masters and took the pocket dimension for themselves, locking their masters out to meet their fate.

Aeons passed and the Faeryn have forgotten about the Eldritch and their masters, they now believe themselves to be magical creatures with access to magical powers.

​

During the medieval period the Faeryn became interested in leaving their pocket realm and setting up a colony in medieval Europe, which explains the surge in fairy tales of the time. After settling down the Faeryn have pursued a conquest, trying to take over the lands and while not everyone agreed with it, the majority pushed for it. This led to conflict with humans, the preternaturals, and most importantly Nephilim. While sea conquest by the merfolk proved to be fruitful (due to lack of resistance according to land faeryn), the land conquest was essentially lost.

All Faeryn are born in the sealed pocket dimension. They are birthed not from sexual relations between Faeryn but from the "Life Tree". The life tree is a biotechnological marvel , designed to create Faeryn types automatically,  embryonic sack pods grow on the trees containing a Faeryn subtype. When the sack is ready the Faeryn inside hatches . Sadly for Faeryn the pocket dimension is unable to provide for baby Faeryn due to the time locks on the dimension,  time moves far too slowly in the pocket dimension, Faeryn age incredibly slowly there and so the Faeryn infant needs to be raised outside of the pocket dimension. Typically the infant is taken to earth and swapped with a human child, the human parents are deceived by the Faeryn glamour into believing the Faeryn child is their own, so they nurture and care for the faeryn infant until it matures into adulthood. The families to raise the faeryn child could be picked for many different reasons, be it at random, as a punishment, or perhaps to place the child in possible position of influence.

 

The original human infant is sometimes destroyed or sometimes placed in an orphanage or left on a strangers doorstep. As time would freeze an infant in the pocket dimension, there is little to no point in abducting a human child. However adults are sometimes abducted away to the pocket dimension for nefarious reasons.

FAERYN COURTS

 

The Faeryn willingly or not fall into two courts, Seelie and Unseelie. While it is true what ancient folktales say and that Seelie fae are usually more helpful towards people and just generally more nice, while Unseelie are more mean and dark, it does not simply stop there. 

​

Seelie faeryn are not just nice or helpful to people for no reason. Seelie faeryn have accepted that the conquest of the land was lost and they are here to raise the next generation of faeryn and then head back to their pocket dimension and live there in the ways of old. They don't have to be always nice but they learned that they can achieve their goals through cooperation and compromise. 

​

Unseelie faeryn on other hand never gave up on conquest, the war is not over for them, it's simply on a break. These faeryn still plan and dream about eventually taking over the earth and so they employ rather cruel and ruthless methods to pave the path for that future. They often do not like humans or other preternaturals but that also does not meant they will attack everyone on sight, they are not stupid nor reckless.
