FOGGY HILLS
A Supernatural Roleplay Game for Second Life

IN GENERAL
No matter the type, humans are by far the most diverse residents of Foggy Hills. The vast majority of NPCs in world are civilians, however the players are often defined not just by the type they picked, but also by their occupation.

Humans may be working in municipal positions, holding the vast majority of them since those require dedication, ID, record, and being able to work at the day time, as well as not murdering your coworkers from anger or thirst. These positions range from mayors office, cops, fire department, hospitals, etc.

While Mafia and crime rings are not exclusive human, the majority of the individuals involved in it are human.

Humans also make up good portion of Sorcerers. Not only they have access to unique Arcane magic that other races do not have, but also even if vampire does practice magic, they are vampire first and mage second. Mean while when human becomes a sorcerer, they are a sorcerer first, as their attention is fully on their craft, undivided by politics and struggles that preternaturals deal with.

Hunters are also nearly exclusively human, even if from time to time a stray preternatural wants to pretend to be one. The Hunters are comprised of different human types, excluding Witches or Sorcerers, since they are usually the hunted, since hunters don't discriminate, even if some do prefer to hunt specific type of preternaturals. The hunters range from lone hunters, to small self ran groups, to full on organizations. More on which we touch in Human F.A.Q.

Now finally for the Human types.

REGULAR
These as the title suggest, regular humans. In theory you know most about regular humans already, we are all humans behind the screen after all. Concerning the world setting, the regular humans are the most numerous NPC wise but are also one of the most flexible to play. You may chose to play obvious, or perhaps find/stumble onto the more unnatural things and become part of more dangerous secret world. You may become most of the other races in the process or chose to learn magic, or perhaps damn it all and try to eradicate it. Regardless, we are happy to see you here.

FAITHFUL
The faithful are religious people that believe in something so strong that it grant them myriad of abilities. It does not matter what the religion is, there is a reason why even the Eldritch have took note of us, the power of the human mind is barely explored, and it already allows them to achieve great things. Sadly most of these faithful believe that they are simply granted what they prey for by greater power, unaware that they have conjured it themselves. The faithful also do not need to lead a life of piety, many crusaders sure did not. The sins of mundane life does not strip one from faith.

WATCHED OVER
The Watched Over humans are really not that different than regular humans, except they and many other believe that they have an angel watching over their shoulder. Others believe that maybe their passed relatives help them or maybe they are just lucky, regardless of that, the watched over humans behave and live as any other normal human, except they can't seem to tap into their adrenaline and instead benefit from the power of the guarded.

VETERANS
Foggy Hills is set in the wake of the biggest war of human history, many human characters would have seen the horrors of war, the holocaust, the internment camps. The battlefield or similar such situations. War hardened and grizzled by countless gory experiences. A majority of Veterans tend to be males, however females may have been European resistance fighters, camp survivors, or even allied spies, indeed the U.S.A did have female spies sent to the enemy front during the second world war, though there were no female soldiers in the U.S.A at the time, but other countries such as the Slavic nations did indeed have female commandos, as did the Russians. When choosing this type of human, it is best to have some basic understanding of the Second World War and make sure your character fits in with its history.

WITCHES
Witches are born with inherent magic sensitivity. They are magically gifted from birth rather than gaining their power from pacts or fastidious study. They are technically called Cambion (Daemon human hybrids, born from the union of a human and a daemon of order Cubus). The term "Witch" is one which they appropriated from various pagan religions. Witch is a gender neutral term, though some male cambion may call themselves warlocks.

Cambion aren't inherently evil, but all Cambion are guaranteed a rough start in early 20th century America. Incubus tend to leave mortal women they have impregnated, ensuring their Cambion child is left fatherless. Succubus mothers abandon their children the moment they are born. The society of the early 20th century isn't the most supportive or kind to single parent families or orphans and most Cambion find themselves outcast because of the social stigma surrounding unmarried mothers and unwanted children. These things are challenges almost all Cambion face early in their lives, but as with all challenges, they will either strengthen a character or degrade them.
Evil Cambion do indeed exist and have done so for centuries. It is these "fallen" Cambion that give "witches" of pagan religions a bad reputation and led to the persecution of pagan witches and the witch panic which swept Europe during the inquisition and the Salem witch trials.

Many Cambion Witches form Covens, Covens are able to reduce spell casting time, collectively improve the strength of spells and generally make the spells they learn more potent.

There are many types of Witches and they are defined by their choice of magic, around which they then base their looks, colors, and tools.
