DAEMON TRUE FORM

+1 to Constitution per level

At level 1 of this power

  • Daemon manifests their Lesser Form visage, showing a portion of what they are, while maintaining mostly human form. This can be as subtle as changing eye color or more elaborate like skin color change, growing horns, tail, being covered in boils, etc.

  • Add +2 to Strength and Dexterity and +1 Armor.

At level 3 of this power

  • Daemon takes their True Form. This can be as wild as one wants, including, Wings, Claws, Fangs, Tail, Horns, Cloven Hooves, different sizes of the body.

  • Add +5 to Strength and Dexterity and +1 Armor.

At level 5 of this power

  • In your True and Lesser Form you have a passive power based on your Sin.

  • Pride: Anyone who landed an unarmed attack on you takes 1 damage.

  • Wrath: Unleash powerful attack that may hit up to 3 targets at once.

  • Sloth: May not be commanded to do anything that would require an effort.

  • Gluttony: Upon scoring a critical hit on anyone who has 5 HP or less, the daemon devours them whole. The devoured person is not harmed and instead is stored in the daemons guts, who will vomit them out later. However the daemon may not hold someone in their belly for more than one day.

  • Greed: Daemon may materialize any item they been in possession for at least a day out of a thin air. This makes taking an item that daemon possesses borderline impossible.

  • Lust: The lust daemon blends a line between pain, pleasure, and desire. They are completely immune to the penalties from crits or any penalties that come from pain.

  • Envy: When affected by any power, no matter how little, the Daemon may replicate this power and hold on to it for a day. This power must be a single thing, not entire level 1 to 5. Meaning that being hit by Wrath Daemons, the Envy Daemon may replicate an ability to ignore 1 armor with unarmed attacks. When commanded to do something by Pride Daemon, they may then use same command power. This does not replicate any stat bonuses, be it from levels or shapeshifts, as well as Daemon may only hold on to one replicated power at the time.

  • Deceit: Gain ability to turn invisible.

  • Fear: Anyone in 20 meter range from the Daemon feels uneasy, having their botch raised from natural 1 to natural 3 as well as suffers -1 to Intelligence and Charisma.

  • Despair: No crits can be scored against Despair daemon.

TRUE FORM LIMITATION

  • Daemon cannot transform into true form sanctified grounds, like churches. â€‹

DAEMON ORDER POWERS

_________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

ORDER SUPERBIA/ PRIDE DAEMONS

WILFUL ARROGANCE

At each level of wilful arrogance the pride daemon adds +1 to their Charisma per level

The First level of this power..

  • You may issue hypnotic command to a single target that you may see, within 20 meter range. No eye contact is required. (Charisma vs Perception)

  • This can be anything and will last for a number of turns equal to successes scored by the daemon.

  • If ordered to harm themselves then the target will attack themselves until they have taken damage equal to the  number of successes the daemon scored  and then snap out of it.

  • If told to forget something then the person will forget said event. The Daemon can set trigger conditions to make something occur when the conditions of the command are met.

At level three of this power the daemons commanding power is

  • Increased to include everyone present in a 20 meter range. The command can exclude allies if the daemon wishes it to.

At level five of the power the daemon is

  • Immune to any mind control.

_________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

ORDER IRATIS / WRATH DAEMONS

UNBRIDLED RAGE

At each level of unbridled rage the wrath daemon adds +1 to their Strength level

The First level of this power

  • Gives the daemon a +2 bonus to their next roll verses an opponent that has just damaged them.

  • The daemon's presence can amplify feelings of hostility and resentment when it enters a scene. If it chooses to activate this ability. Old grudges can spring to the fore, even those going back millennia in terms of species grievances. (Charisma v perception) Those afflicted by the feelings are likely to become hostile to those who have in the past, wronged them, though the hostility does not have to errupt into full violence, but can a spirit of non co-operation (including not assisting the foe  combat even against a greater threat to all.)  the range of this ability is 20 meters and lasts for the duration of the scene. Note: It is inevitable that all characters at some point will have had disagreements, arguments and even minor feuds in the past, so it is a gimme that this power will always work, as it works on the micro level, any -tiny- micro resentment will be amplified enormously, wrath daemons are immune from this power.

At level three of this power

  • The daemon may leap 20 meters in any direction, vertically or horizontally.

  • This leap allows them to enter or leave combat instantly, though they can't leap and attack in the same turn.

At level five of this power

  • Daemons attacks may shatter wood, brick, and ignore 1 armor.

_________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

ORDER PIGER / SLOTH DAEMONS

BONE IDLENESS

At each level of bone idleness the sloth daemon adds +1 to their intelligence level.

The first level of this power

  • Allows the Daemon to enter the dreams of NPCs and characters that are sleeping or unconscious

  • The Daemon can control the environment or their own appearance in the dream in any way they wish, they may create scenes of their own choosing or they may view the dream the character is viewing. It is possible to bring other sleeping characters  into the dream of another.

  • The dream only ends if the character is woken up by an outside source or if the daemon choses to end the scene or leaves the scene.

  • Damage inflicted in dreams does not wake the character nor does it translate into reality.

  • When in dreams the Daemon may erase the memory of an event the dreamer has experienced by finding its location within the dream realm.

  • The purpose of entering a characters dreams it to destroy or corrupt those dreams that cause a character to pursue goals. There is no mechanical effect that can represent this, this is just intended to be a roleplay hook.

At level 3 of this power

  • The Daemon may try to induce sleep on any single individual, as long as their are in line of sight and no more than 20 meters away. (Intelligence vs Perception)

  • If Daemon scores 5+ Successes over the individual, then this individual instantly falls asleep. Any damage or a very violent shake may awake this individual, otherwise they will be asleep for hours.

  • If Daemon scores less than 5 successes over the individual, then this individual feels drowsy (- 2 penalty to all actions), for the rest of the scene.

At level 5 of this power

  • The Daemon may now try to induce sleep on as many people as they want as long as they are within 20 meters of them.

  • Additionally daemon may cause physical damage to the individual within their dreams, however any single attack that deals over 5+ damage will wake the target up. â€‹

_________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

ORDER GULA / GLUTTONY DAEMONS

VORACIOUS APPETITIE

At each level of voracious appetite the gluttony daemon gains +1 to their constitution level

At the first level of this power

  • The Daemon can chew through any material in its mortal and true form.

  • The Daemon may make anyone within 20 meters range feel hungry. This raises a botch from natural 1 to a natural 3 instead for anyone who daemon puts is under this effect. This effect lasts for 1 day. If the affected character were to roll a botch, they succumb to a ravenous hunger and will gorge on any source of food around them. This is especially dangerous for shifters and undead, who will drain and eat their victims, but not exclusive to them. Even normal humans, when faced with this hunger and with no food in sight, will lay their sights on one another and partake in cannibalism.

At level 3 of this power

  • The Daemon may control insects and even summon great clouds of locusts or flies that impede vision, giving everyone around a -2 penalty to all actions.

At level 5 of this power

  • The Daemon may transform into a swarm of insects or rodents and reform at will.

  • This form can't inflict damage but also cannot be damaged by anything as there is no reliable way to destroy all of these insects or rodents all at once.

________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

ORDER AVARITA/ GREED DAEMONS

UNFETTERED GREED

At each level of unfettered greed the Daemon adds + 1 to their intelligence level

At the first level of this power.

  • The Daemon may mark an object or person that they have previously touched, which allows them to always know its exact location.

  • The Daemon always knows the exact value of an object and can tell forgeries on a simple glance. This means they always can determine the best thing to steal if given the chance.

At level 3 of this power.

  • The Daemon may curse an object that you touched.

  • The curse applies to any person who owns the object

  • The curse ends when the person gets rid of the object or breaks the curse with magic.

  • This curse inflicts either a -3 penalty to Charisma, Perception or Intelligence depending on the nature of the curse.

  • The nature of the curse may be physical or internal turmoil, legions of boils, partial blindness or deafness.

  • The curse will suggest the cursed object is to blame, more of a feeling than anything concrete. Characters just know the item causes bad luck

  • This limited to one object at the time.

At level 5 of this power

  • A daemon may both curse an object or mark a person or object with a gaze alone.

_________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

ORDER CUBAS/ LUST DAEMONS

CRIMES OF PASSION

At each level of crimes of passion the daemon adds + 1 to their Charisma level

At the first level of this power

  • The Daemon can make themselves the center of attention or catch the eye of a single individual. (Charisma vs Perception)

  • Those affected will become infatuated with the Daemon character, gaining a -1 penalty to all rolls vs the cuba for the remainder of the scene.

  • They will think of the Daemon character even when the daemon has left the scene.

At level 3 of this power â€‹

  • The Demon may sense what physical beings others are most sexually attracted to. (Charisma vs Perception)

  • The daemon may morph their body to more closely resemble the sexual desire of potential mates. It is generally suggested they don't do this in front of anyone, but scan then re-enter the scene pretending to be someone else.

  • Additionally this means that Daemon may swap between genders or be both at once. They are able to alter their sexual organs in anyway they see fit. They will remain fertile able to impregnate or be impregnated depending on the organ used. They may alter the size, shape, depth, tightness whatever they wish, they can even go for exotic male genitals that belong to non human species, and/or possess multiple sexual organs of either sex or both at the same time if they so wish.

  • Cubas Daemons may also weaponize their "Ahem" weapons, adding teeth to their sexual orifices or spikes, barbs, etc to their male organs, they can even make their non sexual organs sexual organs if they so wish, fingers, tongues, mouths, nipples etc.

At level 5 of this power

  • The Daemon may instantly transport to any personal item they have gifted to someone. Usually this is appearing where one is fantasizing about the daemon while holding an item or even simply interacting with an item. This means that anyone interacting with said item may open the passage for Daemon to come through.

  • The Daemon may make any image of their host body be it statue, painting, photograph, sketch, moving image (if a Hollywood star)  come to life and communicate with the viewer. The animation is usually lewd, alluring, sensual. The image can not do anything other than speak provocative words or strike poses, blow kisses, wink. If an image is framed, the image is not restricted to what the original image is, clothed statues can remove their clothes, close up framed photos or portraits can can move into the background of the image to give a full show of their bodies. The rest of the world will appear dreamlike and surreal. Once the effect is over, the viewer will put it down to their own sexual desires and perverted imagination and not connect it in anyway to the supernatural. If multiple people are viewing the image when this effect occurs they are not going to talk about it, given they all will think its their own imagination.

_________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

ORDER INVIDUS /  ENVY DAEMONS

GREEN EYED MONSTER

At each level of green eyed monster the daemon adds + 1 to its intelligence level

At the first level of this power

  • The Daemon can determine who holds the highest societal position or best job or has the most wealth or influence in the scene.

  • The Daemon can mark such a person as person of interest and know of their precise location at all times.

At level 3 of this power

  • The Daemon may assume the physical form of others, as well as make cosmetic alterations to their own appearance. This is a physical transformation and does not change the daemons clothing.

  • Not only that but daemon also assume the mannerisms and thought patterns of a selected target, making it very hard to distinguish between imposter and the original.

  • In the case where the imposter and the subject are in the same scene nobody can tell the difference, all attacks against the imposter will hit the original on dice rolls that come up evens, and the imposter on dice rolls that come up odds.

At level 5 of this power â€‹

  • The Daemon implants the thoughts into characters by means of psychic communication which mimics perfectly the targets own inner voice. Only the target can hear these thoughts, and believes them to be their own. Phrases such as "They were always better treated than you", and "They got all the breaks while you suffered" are the typical kinds of instructions these Daemons use. This may be used to instil feelings of envy into others. (Intelligence vs Perception)

  • As any mental power, it may only be attempted on someone once per scene. Because of that each instilled thought must be no more than short sentence long, as well as Daemon can only instil as equal amount of thoughts into someone to the successes they scored over that person in the initial roll of this power. â€‹

_________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

ORDER MENDAX / DECIET DAEMONS

LIES UPON LIES

Each level of lies upon lies adds +1 to the Daemons intelligence levels. The daemon may use Intelligence for mental defence versus powers designed to gain insight into the daemons motives or hopes and dreams, if their intelligence is higher than their perception rating.

At the first level of this power

  • The Daemon can automatically detect lies told in its presence.

  • The Daemons own lies cannot be detected by any means, unless the lie is an obvious falsehood such as the sky is plaid or water is dry.

  • The Daemon cannot be compelled to tell the truth by any means, natural or supernatural. It will pass lie detectors. It will ignore supernatural powers designed to drag out the truth. Mendax will lie to their dying breath, they may smuggle a few truths in here and there to make their lies more believable, but otherwise, Mendax thrive on the chaos their lies cause.

At level 3 of this power

  • The Daemon can weave illusions. These illusions are indistinguishable from the real thing. It can replicate people and objects and animate them, or even make them repeat a loop actions.

  • The number of illusions may not exceed Daemons Intelligence rating.

  • The daemon may try to confuse or fool others with their illusions, making people attack / chase the illusion rather than the daemon itself. (Intelligence vs Perception)

  • The illusions are unable to harm or be harmed, though of course one illusion can kill another, or do whatever it wishes to another, seeing is believing and this is one tool the daemon uses to spread lies.

  • Additionally the Daemon may make themselves appear as someone else by using said Illusions. Mendax illusions are this level are fully real to the five senses. Sight, Sound, Taste, Touch and Smell wise it can be anything it wishes, even an animal or an object. The Daemon can not be tracked by scent  if it switches its appearance during transit.

At level 5 of this power

  • The Daemons illusions become solid, this allows the daemon to conjure weapons from nowhere, however these weapons may not possess any magical effect.

  • The Daemon can create solid illusionary creatures and individuals. These constructs all have rolls and HP equal to Daemons Intelligence score.

  • The limitation of this power is that it does not matter if Daemon summons one illusion or many, they all act as a pack, with same roll bonus and HP. Explanation for this is that it's easier to make one illusion stronger than several, which spreads its thin.

  • These illusions cannot be traps or prisons, inescapable prisons are the domain of despair daemons. Order Mendax want to create false narratives, not create despair or fear.

_________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

IGNAVUS /FEAR DAEMON

PARALYZING FEAR

Each level of Paralyzing Fear  adds + 1 to the Daemons Charisma level

At the first level of this power

  • The Daemon may make a character deathly afraid of an object or a person or themselves, making them flee the scene. (Charisma vs Perception)

At Level 3 of this power

  • The Daemon can give someone a lingering phobia of an item, creature, place or character. When coming face to face with the trigger of the fear, the person will roll -3 to all rolls.

  • Only single phobia may be applied to a target and only after successful (Charisma vs Perception) roll.

  • If the roll fails, the Daemon may not try to roll it again on the same target for a week.

  • It is suggested that psychological therapy is sought at the hospital, otherwise this condition lasts as long as the afflicted player deems suitable. ((Between 2 days or a week, it can become permanent, in which case it counts as a flaw with a flaw value of 2. (See flaws here)

At Level 5 of this power

  • The Daemon can make someone see what they are afraid off. Unlike illusions, no one else can see it, none of it is actually there. (Charisma vs Perception)

  • Whatever the vison that appears in front of the victim, it is deeply personal and all of it is happening entirely in their head.

  • This last for equal amount of turns to the successes that the Daemon have scored over the victim, during which the victim may not do anything else but try to fight off or run away from the visions. The only exception to this is if the victim is attacked, in which case they can defend themselves normally. â€‹â€‹

_________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

TRISTITA / DESPAIR DAEMONS

DEPTHS OF DESPAIR

Each level of Depths of Despair adds + 1 to the Daemons Charisma level.

At the first level of this power

  • The Daemon is capable of seeing a persons hopes and dreams, as well as your deepest mental and physical flaws. (Charisma vs Perception)

  • Then Daemon may utilize this knowledge in destructive ways. For example, if a persons desire is to be married, the Daemon will know to make sure the subject knows they are unattractive or unlovable. The Daemon will use only the truths the person themselves holds true to destroy their dreams.

At the 3rd level of this power

  • The Daemon can make a character feel inferior to others around them, they will in the inner voice of the target tell the subject why they will never be as good as the other characters. (Charisma vs Perception)

  • There doesn't need to be any truth in the statements, this level allows the Daemon to play on insecurities and even add new ones.

  • The target character will suffer a -1 penalty on all actions against those marked as superior. The target will put this down to a  lack of confidence, even if outwardly they attempt bravado, there is still that nagging thought.

  • Additionally the target can not score critical successes while affected by this power.

At level 5 of this power

  • The Daemon can create an elaborate maze of despair which is accessed through any door, window, or a hole.

  • Once someone enter it, they cannot escape this maze or call for help in anyway, not even teleportation works there. While to the eyes of the onlookers, the person simply vanished.

  • This can only be used on one person at the time so once someone is trapped in the maze, others may not enter it, only the Deamon can.

  • The Character who is trapped can only escape when the Daemon moves into another scene entirely, decides to break it, or one of them reach 0 HP while in the maze.

  • Daemons like to trap subjects in this prison to drive them into the depths of despair, but all the physical damage done there vanishes once outside of the maze.

DIABOLIC DEALINGS

Daemons are famous for making dark deals with those that seek power. Faustian deals that have a heavy price. Daemons of all orders can generally all offer the same experiences, the only difference is the payment.  This price usually depends on the particular order of Daemons one is dealing with.

THE PRICE OF SIN

  • Superbia Daemons expect worship from those they make deals with. They wish to be venerated with shrines and constant prayer in praise of the Daemon.

  • Iratis Daemons expect characters to carry out exaggerated or elaborate punishments on those who have wronged others, no slight, no deed, no wrong doing can be forgiven nor unpunished. Generally the more bloody and gruesome the better. This often puts Iratis followers at odds with followers of other sins.

  • Piger expect characters to give up any and all energetic activities, including sex. Those taking an oath of servitude are not even allowed to run from a combat or even defend themselves.

  • Gula Daemons expect characters to alter their diet in extreme ways, eating hair and insects or consuming human blood or other bodily fluids are not uncommon details.

  • Avarita Daemons expect characters to surrender all of their worldly riches , including homes to the Daemon, every cent from their paycheque must go to the daemon, eventually the character will have to steal in order to survive and keep up with Daemons demands.

  • Cubus Daemons expect nothing else other than eternal sexual servitude. They are expected to sleep with whomever the Daemon decrees they sleep with and they are expected to perform debased acts they would never usually consider. The Cuba know no limits and respect no sexual orientation. They will make straight people sleep with the same gender and vice versa.

  • Invidus Daemon expect the same as Avarita Daemons but in addition the character must surrender anything they have such as their spouse, pets, children over to the Daemon.

  • Mendax Daemons expect their subjects to ruin the reputation of others via malicious gossip and false accusations. Allegations of cruelty, abuse and misconduct are highly encouraged.

  • Ignavus Daemons expect their subjects to create an atmosphere of fear in their city, carrying out violent crimes or terrorist atrocities are the go to on this.

  • Tristita Daemons expect characters to simply realize the price of the deal is their eternal soul. They have to swear to say "My soul is doomed" upon waking and upon going to bed. While this may seem a minor demand compared to some of the other orders, this particular deal never allows the character to forget that their ultimate fate is inescapable.

In return for these oaths the daemon will attempt to the best of its abilities fulfil the request of the character, though of course the request cannot be contrary to the oath, for example a Cubas can not be a sexual slave to one who has sworn sexual servitude, however the Cubas are the most prolific deal makers, offering one night of unmatched pleasure in exchange for a lifetime of sexual servitude.

  • Daemons can not improve the statistics of other characters.

  • Daemons can use their own powers to affect those that the deal maker has marked as causing them problems.

  • Daemons may perform tasks within their ability as part as a diabolic deal.

  • Daemons rarely give information freely. Especially Greed Daemons, Information given by Deceit Daemons as part of a Diabolic Deal must be truthful.

  • Daemons can transfer any one effect of their order powers to the character they have a deal with for the duration of a scene , while this effect is in play the Daemon cannot use that power themselves. Statistics are neither hampered for the Daemon or improved for the subject of the deal. The Daemon must be present in the scene. They cannot bestow base powers.

  • Daemons can  be summoned by characters they have a contract with,  appearing instantly.

  • Daemon may aid in combat  the characters they have a contract with .

  • Daemons can  heal characters they have a deal with  and even bring them back from brink of death.

  • Daemons may offer resurrection of a loved one as part of Diabolic Deal.

  • Daemons can heal untreatable diseases and even cure cancer with a touch as part of a Diabolic Deal.

  • Daemons can offer a tour of the spirit realm as part of a Diabolic Deal, rather like in Faustus, they can eject the subjects soul and assist it in spying on others in spirit form before returning it to its body.

  • Daemons cannot be harmed in any fashion by those who have sworn an oath to them.

  • Daemons will combat other Daemons if their servant had requested protection. Daemons harming other Daemons as part of a Diabolic deal are accepted among Daemons as part and parcel of being a Daemon, they generally don't hold grudges against Daemons just doing their job. They are most likely to laugh it off post combat, a body is just a body after all.

  • The deal once made is unbreakable unless the Daemon fails to fulfil their end of a contract within 6 days 6 hours and 6 minutes.

  • Once the daemon has upheld their end of the deal, the character belongs to them and must fulfil the oath. This is a permanent state, the only escape is death, though of course it isn't.

  • Subjects who do not keep their end of the deal with Daemon suffer health loss or irresistible compulsion that they must act on, the compulsion is usually in line with the Daemon Order's particular sin.

The purpose of Diabolic deals is to weaken the spiritual resolve of characters making them fit for possession in the future, it may be for the Daemons personal use, or it maybe for Daemon's ally. (This is a good way to have a human character become a Daemon at a later date)

While Diabolic deals can be verbal a wise character will request a formal written contract that they must sign in blood. Daemons are unable to refuse this request for some reason.

A physical contract written on paper can be destroyed, a verbal contract cannot. If a physical contract is destroyed the character is freed from their service to the Daemon. However they will have made a powerful enemy intent on destroying them.

The only way to back out of a Diabolic Deal is for the Daemon to fail to achieve the request within the time frame.

Daemon's cannot make Diabolic Deals with other Daemons.

BASE POWERS & WEAKNESSES

DURABILITY

  • Daemons have +1 Armor

  • They are also immune to natural human sicknesses and diseases.

  • As well as they are immune to most toxins and poisons.

  • The exception to those rules are sicknesses, poisons, and toxins or preternatural origins.

  • Daemons can recognize each other on sight, the only exception is Daemons of Order Mendax, who can hide themselves even from a Daemon's keen senses.

TRUE IMMORTALITY

True Immortality differs from the temporary immortality that vampires and faeryn possess.

A Daemon is an immortal spirit and while the body it possesses may die or be killed the Daemon's spirit never can. Unlike other races, that become spirits or something else entirely like in Faeryn case, the Daemons already are what they are, able to return through possessing another human body.

When a Daemons body is physically destroyed they must find a new body to take over. This process takes a deal of time, as the Daemon must find a human host with a weakened soul.

  • The Daemon will need to create a new human avatar appearance (on the same second life account )

  • Take a new "human" name

  • Spend one week of playing that human character as a regular starting human character.

  • After this time is elapsed , the player may return to their previous Daemon statistics.

  • Note: If killed during this week, the Daemon will have to start the process over again.

WEAKNESSES

  • Daemons may not enter Sanctified Grounds uninvited. These include large cathedrals and churches, as well as any build that been magically sanctified. The graveyards are Not sanctified.

  • A daemon may enter a church if invited inside, either by the priest or by a member of the congregation. However the Daemon is unable to summon even its passive abilities inside such grounds.

  • Sanctified, or otherwise known as holy or blessed attacks ignore all of Daemons armor bonuses, as well as do 1 extra damage and prevent passive regeneration (See bane materials on combat page)

DEVINE RITES

  • +1 to Perception per level

  • At level 1 of this power

  • +1 to Strength per level

  • At level 3 of this power

  • You can tell what someone is, no race or species may be hidden from you. Except Mendax, who can always fool any method of supernatural detection. Mendax always appear Human, until they reveal themselves. However Mendax still have the standard Daemon Weaknesses described above.

  • At level 5 of this power

  • You have an ability to create balefire, a green flame that has several properties.

  • When lit up, it will reveal any spirits or invisible entities in a 10 meter range.

  • It may be used as ranged attack (Perception vs Dexterity)

  • You may even light up your hands or melee weapon to give hand to hand and melee attacks balefire effect.

  • Balefire does ignore 1 Armor.
